Chris Kilkus shoots and directs across fashion, advertising and lifestyle, working with an international roster of brands and magazines. His clients have included Givenchy, Kenzo, Forever 21, Google, Apple, Samsung, BCBG Max Azria, Hervé Léger, bebe, Macy's, GAP, Banana Republic, Jockey, Skechers and Billabong, alongside editorial work for Vogue, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. In addition to thousands of still images, he has directed dozens of commercials, bringing the same eye for light, movement and emotion to motion as he does to the frame.
Originally from San Francisco, Christopher Kilkus discovered photography early through the influence of his mother, a successful fashion model. After careers in bicycle racing and model management, he spent two years working across Asia and seven years in New York City before settling on the West Coast. Today he splits his time between New York City, Miami and Los Angeles, shooting for designers, agencies and magazines around the world.
His work has drawn comparison to fashion and portrait photographers such as Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Robert Mapplethorpe and Man Ray — a lineage of image-makers known for turning style into something that lasts.
