Chris Kilkus is an Advertising Photographer

Christopher Kilkus is an advertising and commercial photographer — and director — whose campaign work has run for some of the world's most recognisable brands. Advertising photography is one of the most demanding disciplines in the field: every campaign carries a single objective, to convince an audience that a product is the best, and the imagery has to meet that bar. It must be technically excellent and able to turn something ordinary into something compelling. Close enough doesn't sell a product.

There is more to advertising photography than meets the eye. Strong commercial imagery balances a clear creative idea with flawless execution — lighting, casting, art direction and post-production all working toward the brand's goal. Chris Kilkus pairs that craft with the reliability a campaign needs, delivering work that performs across print, billboards, digital and broadcast. Alongside stills, he has directed dozens of commercials, giving brands a single creative voice across both image and motion.

His advertising clients span technology, fashion and retail, including Google, Apple, Samsung, Givenchy, Kenzo, Forever 21, BCBG Max Azria, Macy's, GAP, Banana Republic, Jockey, Skechers and Billabong. He has also partnered long-term with brands such as BCBG, Forever 21 and bebe — helping build, equip and staff their in-house studios while consulting on creative direction, marketing and operations — experience that gives him a rare understanding of how to balance creativity with the real needs of a business.
